China Daily, an English-language newspaper affiliated with the Chinese Communist Party, is planning to create its own metaverse and NFT platform. They are offering 2.813 million Yuan (approximately $390,000) to a third-party contractor to design the NFT platform. The contractor can be Chinese or foreign and should specialize in blockchain technology capable of handling over 10,000 transactions per second.
The goal of the China Daily NFT Platform is to promote Chinese culture through technologies like the metaverse, VR, AR, blockchain, NFTs, big data, and cloud computing. The platform should support uploading, displaying, and managing digital collections, offer multimedia formats, various collection types, pricing, bidding, limited-time functions, and multi-currency settlement. Additionally, the platform may collaborate with mainstream NFT platforms like OpenSea, Rarible, SuperRare, and Foundation. It's worth noting that while China has banned cryptocurrency transactions since 2021, blockchain operations in the country face strict scrutiny from law enforcement.
